- let you create, participate in, and share challenges and activity;
- display your profile and content according to your settings;
- provide safety, privacy, and filtering features such as blocking;

5. Legal basis for processing
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract
We process personal data where necessary to provide the Service you request, such as creating your account, authenticating you, storing your profile information, enabling you to create and participate in challenges, and applying your chosen privacy, reporting, and blocking settings.
Legitimate interests
We process personal data where necessary for our legitimate interests, including operating, securing, maintaining, moderating, improving, and supporting Hundoo, provided that those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
This may include preventing abuse, reducing unwanted contact between users, preserving the integrity of shared spaces, maintaining safety-related relationship state such as blocks, investigating reports, and retaining moderation records for audit, repeat-offender review, and policy enforcement.
Consent
We rely on your consent where required, for example when you choose to grant access to photos or media on your device, or where other optional features require permission.
Legal obligations
We may process personal data where necessary to comply with legal obligations.
6. Sharing of personal data
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share personal data with service providers and infrastructure partners where necessary to operate Hundoo, including:
- Hetzner, which we use to host our self-managed server infrastructure;
- Cloudflare, which we use for image delivery and related content delivery functions; and
- other service providers we may use from time to time to help operate, secure, maintain, or support the Service.
These providers may process personal data on our behalf only to the extent necessary for the relevant service and subject to appropriate contractual and security safeguards where required.
We may also disclose personal data:
- if required by law, regulation, legal process, or request from public authorities;
- to protect our rights, property, users, or the security and integrity of Hundoo;
- to investigate or respond to suspected fraud, abuse, safety incidents, or unlawful behavior; or
- in connection with a business transfer, reorganization, restructuring, or sale of Hundoo.
We generally do not share the identity of a reporting user with the user who was reported, except where required by law or where disclosure is otherwise necessary and lawful.
7. International transfers
Your personal data may be processed in the country where our infrastructure or service providers are located.
Where personal data is transferred outside the country or region where you are located, including outside the EEA where applicable, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the data is protected in accordance with applicable law, including by relying on appropriate safeguards where required.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain account functionality, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with legal obligations, and protect the security and integrity of Hundoo.
If you delete your account or request deletion of your personal data, we will generally delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time and without undue delay, except where we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, moderation, audit, backup, or other legitimate operational reasons.
Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, or de-identified records before being deleted or fully overwritten.
We may retain anonymized or aggregated information after deletion where that information no longer identifies you and is used for analytics, service improvement, research, or operational insight.
If you block another user, certain relationship records and interaction data between the two of you may be removed or altered as part of the blocking feature, such as friendship status, certain reactions, or certain notifications. Other content, including content in shared spaces, may remain stored and visible to other relevant users even if it is hidden from you because of the block.
If you submit a report, the report record, selected reason, free-text details, related identifiers, review status, reviewer notes, timestamps, and related moderation records may be retained even if the reported content, the reported account, or your own account is later deleted. We may retain such records for moderation, safety, audit, repeat-offender tracking, legal, and operational purposes.
9. Children and age requirements
Hundoo is not intended for children under the minimum age required to use the Service under our Terms of Use.
If you are under the age required to use Hundoo in your country, you must not use the Service.
If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child who is not permitted to use the Service under applicable law, we may delete the account and associated data.
10. App stores and platform providers
If you download or use Hundoo through Apple App Store, Google Play, or similar platforms, those platform providers may independently collect or process certain information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We do not control that processing, and we encourage you to review the privacy terms of the platform through which you download or use the app.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you are located and the laws that apply, you may have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- request deletion of your personal data;
- request restriction of processing in certain situations;
- object to certain processing in certain situations;
- request portability of personal data you have provided to us, where applicable;
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing; and
- lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority.
Some of these rights only apply in specific circumstances and may be subject to legal limitations or exceptions.
If you want to exercise any of your rights, please contact us at support@hundoo.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request.
If you are in Norway or the EEA and believe that your personal data has been handled in breach of applicable law, you may also lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet or another relevant supervisory authority.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
For example, account passwords are stored in a secure hashed form rather than in plain text.
However, no method of transmission, storage, or electronic processing is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are also responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for protecting access to your devices and account.
Blocking is a personal safety and filtering feature, but it is not a guaranteed security boundary and may not prevent a determined person from viewing public content through another account or outside the blocked relationship.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to Hundoo, legal requirements, or our data practices.
If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users, such as by posting an updated version in the app, on the website, or through another appropriate service notice.
The updated Privacy Policy will take effect from the date stated in the revised version unless otherwise required by applicable law.
